Lots happened again! I was too tired to write an update yesterday, so it got pushed to today. Things have been a little rough in real life. I've been really tired, and also my sister is really unwell and is in the hospital, so that's been really stressful to me. I've been coping alright, but I still feel very stressed. But enough of that! Onto Pokémon!
I earned 3 more badges. The easiest gym was the 4th gym. It's a grass gym, and I have a lot of Pokémon with a lot of moves that are strong against that type, so I didn't have many problems. Things have been getting tougher though. Most opponents have stronger Pokémon than I do. Turning off the Experience Share was definitely the more difficult option, but I'm okay with the grind.
While grinding, I've been watching videos on my computer and playing Toontown Rewritten. Most of my time on Toontown Rewritten has been spamming boss battles, but what I do in that game could be a whole series of blog posts in itself, so I won't go into detail.
One thing I've been doing as well is getting my hearts up with my Pokémon in Pokémon-Aime. It struck me, while I was chipping away at it, that the system probably could've been implemented better. The benefits are amazing. Your Pokémon can cure their own status effects, withstand hits that would've taken them out, and can dodge moves (probably more that I'm not thinking up at the moment), making Pokémon-Aime a very powerful feature.
However, the more I've played the game, the more I realize that these benefits don't really feel earned. It feels more like I've thrown myself at grinding through a feature instead of fostering a relationship with my Pokémon. Maybe the feature could've been expanded with more things you could do with your Pokémon, or maybe it would take a certain amount of badges before certain benefits started popping up. I think there could've been a better way to emulate the feeling of going on a journey and, through teamwork and dedication, growing close to your Pokémon. Still, the feature is better than in previous games where you didn't really have a way to interact directly with your friends.
Team Flare and their motives continue to elude me. I retook the power plant from them so they can stop stealing energy for whatever reason, but other than them being fashion-obsessed fools, there's not much to say about why they do the things they do. Lysandre has also done little other than ask me to change the world into a better, more beautiful version of itself.
I want more of the story, so I guess I just need to keep going through it to discover more. I know Lysandre is a villain, I remember that from my first playthrough, but I really don't remember why he's doing what he does. Hopefully I will find out soon. The conflict the game is setting up is a really interesting one, and I'm eager to see where it goes with it. Obsession with beauty is a huge problem with humanity in general, I think. It's not just beauty either, it's obsession with conformity and perfection. That's a blog post for another time, though. Hopefully the game brings something interesting to the table about this topic.
Also, a new party member has joined us! Lucha the Hawlucha has brought the team to completion. Now all I need to do is train and evolve the rest of the party members. I have a shiny stone with Poppy's name on it. Bulbapedia also evolved into a Venusaur! I just realized that Venusaur kind of looks like a frog. It never occurred to me that this was perhaps the design intention until I saw the 3D model from behind. Perhaps I should pay more attention in life.
The team is coming together! Will update soon.

If you ever find yourself in need of some money, the battle chateau is a great place to grind. A lot of the pokemon also give a fair bit of xp too.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'm probably going to need to start grinding levels soon so I'll definitely do this. Luckily haven't had problems with money yet. Early in-game I picked up an amulet coin and I entered almost every trainer battle with it.

I don't have much to do, and playing Toontown Rewritten in the background is really helping me grind through levels without getting too bored! And yeah, it's interesting because when I first played the game, I put 70 hours into it before even beating it. Maybe it's just because I'm older this time around so I'm better at strategizing, who knows. I'm having a blast either way.
