November Update: School and Cold Turkey!!

Hello everyone, it's been over a month since the last time I've said anything here aside from a few status updates and a blog entry. I can't tell if it's just from the weather or the extraneous circumstances of my life, but I am feeling a bit bogged down from all of it. Having SAD-like symptoms suck, but it also makes sense to a degree. So to recap the October Breakdown:

  • I'm in search of a roommate and a cheap apartment to split the bill, but at least I have a whole list I've compiled so I have some options to choose from. This housing market has me pretty nervous, if I'm being honest. I do, however, trust my Godfather's prediction in terms of prices going down around the start of next year and that God will take care of my needs!
  • I'm gathering my bearings and finally going back to school. At first, I was just studying for a health science degree, but now I'm trying to get myself on a fast track for a CNA program. This may be the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
  • The Nativity Fast has begun today, so I'm giving up most of my social media consumption until Christmas. Which means I have more time to learn how to crochet and archive the recipes I've been collecting over the last few months. A classic problem I run into during these seasons is the ability to keep myself full for a long time. My job is physically demanding, so I end up burning through my meals a lot faster than I would like to. My metabolism is also crazy fast, so it just makes things worse. I also don't like eating a lot. There's no winning here, but this too shall pass.
  • This is going to be the first Thanksgiving where I won't be with my immediate family. I'm not sure how I'm suppose to feel about it honestly. Since moving out of my mom's house, it was either being held at my BIL's house, or with my sister. I can't say there was anything impactful about either plan, just an excuse to cook a lot of food. Which I totally have no qualms with, of course.
  • If things go well, I'll get PTO for Christmas week!!

That's about it. Goodnight and God bless.
