some days, i think we all need a break from the horrors of social media. today has been one of those days where i haven't even checked twitter for more than two minutes and it's done me some good. ive only really been on spacehey. at least it is not toxic especially when compared to other social medias.
i suppose sometimes i just need a break from talking to people, because talking to people (even online) takes a lot of energy out of me.
i have a trip to alton towers coming up soon. i dont particularly like rollercoasters (im a scaredy cat) but my friends are going so i will go for them. i haven't been on a rollercoaster in a few years. i used to live on a holiday park (which sounds pleasent but it was not during winter months) which has a very shitty mini fair and arcade nearby. i used to go on the rides quite often but they were only small ones.
enough about my life at the holiday park, my day today has consisted of making silly little doodles of characters in my sketchbook, and playing far too much ni no kuni. i played the ps3 version many moons ago, i still have it but i got it on switch while it was on sale, mainly because i know i like it and i can play it while lazing in bed. my ps3 and other home consoles are in the living room, which makes it quite awkward to play bayonetta lol.
anyway, im 10 hours into the game so far and it's great. it's got a few odd moments and a bit of a weird combat system but alas i enjoy it.
i don't like how it's around £50 on the eshop, though. £50, really? for a game almost 10 years old? i suppose this brings into the discussion of game preservation, accessibility and rereleases. which is definitely a topic id be interested in making a blog post about since it's a mess. like, £50 for SKYRIM? sure, you may look at that and go, "but it's new content!" I DONT CARE! im not paying £50-£60 for a game released in 2011 that i can by for £1.50 (basegame) - £4 (legendary edition) on ps3. not to mention bethesda hiding the steam page to oldrim. it was VERY difficult for me to get pc oldrim when i got it (i didn't have the money for special edition) and i don't even know if you can get it now. WHY? it's such a predatory business practice!
ill write up a full blog post with my thoughts because this is all stuff that most people probably don't notice or cafe about but it's something i feel incredibly strongly about.
goodbye for now.
