Well I was keen for the Crunchyroll Anime Expo this weekend, and I rolled up on the Saturday only to be greeted by a giant crowd of people milling around outside. I hear from a volunteer that the convention centre is already at capacity, and the only way anyone else is getting in is if someone leaves the expo. I leave to get an early lunch and came back and there was still a crowd, so I left again and watched a movie at a movie theater (Bullet Train, it was actually quite fun), came back and still couldn't get in, so I just called it quits. I had a weekend ticket but I didn't even bother trying again, I just picked up a work shift that someone needed covered for them.
Pretty big bummer because I was looking forward to this expo for a while, I look forward to anime/pop culture expos a lot because I don't spend money too often but I let them be an excuse for me to just buy some unnecessary stuff and splurge. There is Pax Aus at least in a few weeks, but I'm not sure if they'll have any artists selling art prints, which is usually my favourite part about conventions.
On the upside Bullet Train was actually a very fun movie, I won't spoil anything but they did a good job of having a lot of intersecting plotlines without becoming confusing, and remaining fun and entertaining to watch. I had my doubts going in but I'm glad I enjoyed it.
Regarding my seeds that I sowed a few days ago, no visible growth yet. I'm still not sure how often I should be watering them, I heard that you should pretty much water it when the soil becomes too dry, but every day I stick my finger in the soil it still feels a little bit moist, because that's how it came in the packet, so I watered them again today. Fingers crossed I'm just overthinking it, it'll be a big relief to see some visible growth because then I'll know I'm at least doing something right.

gaaah, that sucks :^( here's hoping pax makes up for it though! Do they release a list or something of artists like they do guests?
Not that I can see on the site, I'll keep my fingers crossed but I doubt it. Pax does have the indie section though which is really fun, indie devs have booths for their games and you can just talk to them about it. That's always my favourite part of Pax, a lot of cool indie games and the devs are always passionate to talk about them :D

There's probably other anime conventions out there. I mean this is crunchyroll we're talking about; of course it'll be busy.
There are other anime conventions out there, just not that many, in Melbourne there's only ~3 a year.
There's a difference between being a convention being busy and the convention centre literally being at capacity, thousands of people were unable to get in despite having a ticket because the event organisers seemingly sold more tickets than the capacity of the convention centre.
