Post Hormoneous

Throughout the years
I never once
got my hair to sit right.
With an alleged abundance,
the unruly nature of it,
along with an overall temperament
in avoiding anything and everything
until it starts to bleed.
Even then,
my ability is in question.
Its no big surprise,
this collection of photos all perpetrating the
greasy strands;
the carpet over
finger nail dug trenches
on a cystic hell.
an expression of sheer persistence
to “fit in” with the porcelain.
To not be left longing...
Etched in what still remains,
I no longer recognize the girl from the tapes
Hiding under my desk
scrolling through everyone’s bliss.
Should of worked harder at death;
the only option then, a flashy pink razr.
Why care so much about a purposely devised stranger?
Even if 5% lived forever in honesty
like my face scars;
zero foundation applied,
I'm too oily.
I still live
and pulsate
throughout.
a personable connection
now becoming a long sought after art.

The blue blur, a lighthouse in a sea of unwashed sheets,
advertises an effortless smile applied delicately.
Hair styled with intention.
The first to be chosen.
a little red heart frenzy explosion
Where was she going
after that photo was taken?
It’s all so stupid.
Because like always,
no one remembers
or holds on for this long.
I missed the class on censored feeling...

Very good read. I particularly liked 'I no longer recognize the girl from the tapes / hiding under my desk'.

Thank you! Yeah…I watch way too many home videos and yeah there was a significant change there compared to this technological hell.

Beautiful writing style. It engaged me, bringing me into the story and leaving my brain hungry for more. Don't ever quit.

thanks, i wish i was able to. it's a very frustrating process because i am not inherently good at anything creative. i'm glad this one didn't end up lost in the abyss like the others though!

I think most creative types think that way about themselves. I know I do. We are often overly critical of ourselves and our work. But I think that can be a good thing as it compells one to make better art. Coming up with some cute and clever prose is easy. But to truly write something that engulfs a reader with the emotion you as the author felt, that is not easy. The struggle for creativity is one of the things that makes art beautiful in the first place. Sometimes you just have to sit down with your pen and write about nothing. Eventually, the ideas will start flowing. The reason many prolific authors are able to pump out so many novels in such a short amount of time, isn't because they're inherently more creative than you or I, it's because that instead of waiting for inspiration to strike, they make it for themselves. The more you create, the easier and more creative you become. Don't sell yourself short; your writing is oozing with creativity. You just have to do it more. Just some shitty advice from a rando on the internet. XD

it's very sound advice. because like....yeah if i wasn't critical, or i didnt' feel something from another writer just now, i would of never fixed this piece. and it was REALLY bad before. i mean...the emotion was there...but the format was just so ugly and almost unreadable. but you know....when you catch that inspiration dragon, you just gotta run with it.

i'm honestly surprised i got so much notice (for me) so quickly with this one. must be the title...i'm so bad with titles.

Your title is awesome. I fucking love it. But I'll be honest, I didn't even read it until you said something. But that's not you, that's me. I'm horrible with titles as well. They're always the last thing I do, and so I half-ass it. I think the reason you got some eyeballs on it, is because you posted it on a bulletin. Which is totally fine, that's how you get those eyeballs. You should definitely do more. Keep creating! And make sure you post them on bulletins!

Same!!! I never ever think about the title going in. And I totally half ass it too!
