In Bruges

~Good morning/day/evening/timeless my lovelies!~
I have recently decided what what I really needed distracting me, were films, mostly this week were comedy films with a healthy dose of corny campy energy stuffed into them. Sadly I was either sleep exhausted, or drunk in half of the viewings. But sobriety won out in the viewing of this, only the distractions of a particularly charming woman were getting in the way, so here we are! So In Bruges begins with an interesting buddy cop  hitman vibe right at the start. around the 6 minute mark, I felt the distinct emotions of; what the hek am I watching? Before remembering the fact that these two are indeed killers for hire. The film seemed to have a grip on my brain, reminding me of the allure of alcohol and my inability to get any at the current moment. I'm not sure when this blogpost transitioned from a movie review into lamenting about my alcoholism. But I suppose its always secretly been about that. When I awaken from my brain stupor, I return to short people slander. Why am I watching this? Warning, this entire film is problematic language and conversation that makes me understand, you dont need outright slurs to offend people. Ray is charismatic despite his colourful language throughout the film, keeping you enticed throughout with his childish personality, up until he murders a priest, but he does it creatively, so all is forgiven. Except he then murders a child, accidently but oh well. The sudden crash into philosophy and murder talk surprised me, but that also quickly dissolved because this films entire premise appears to enjoy jumping up and down with my emotions. Especially when they get into the dating scene, just RIP MY HEART OUT ALREADY WHY DONT YOU?? Harry was a hilarious disembodied voice berating people for not enjoying the scenery was something oddly funny to me, and again makes you question how these three can possibly be criminals, up until you remember the violence up till now. And then that phone call happens. Then it gets completely unhinged, dark edgey humour. The emotional rollercoaster doesn't end, by midpoint of the film I keep getting confused over what the hell is happening and where its going. YOU'RE AN INATIMATE FUCKING OBJECT! I'm sorry for calling you an inanimate object. Bro Harry and Yuri dialogues are fucking ridiculous and amazing. Please watch the film purely for these two if anything. Honestly even at the end, this emotional rollercoaster never ends, despite it being murderous, its wholesome, more love than my parents gave me that's for sure. Well wont spoil the ending. But uh, please watch it-
