Continuing form where I last left off, things weren't looking good at all.
It looks like there was a huge battle in this bunker where it looked like some researcher soldiers were tinkering with robots but something.. Happened with the robots? Some stray code or some targeting parameters turned friendlies into hostiles and the soldiers didn't seem like they had a chance in hell at all. No guns, no backup or anything. Just some robots from 200 years ago and skeletons everywhere.
It was really nuts, if you get me. Nothing but nearly-hollowed out robots and dead bodies. No supplies, no scrap, no recorded documents. Nothing. It was just a graveyard for both man and machine. I did find a key upstairs, thankfully. Extremely hard to miss where the charm was glowing.. Although picking it up triggered some alarms in the background where I had to suddenly think fast. With all the different kinds of robots and machinery set to still be around to disintegrate any human being, I had to sneak out as quietly as I could.
Praying that the sensors were old enough for me to slip on by despite how much gear I usually carry around with me, I was able to escape the bunker safely..
..? The hell? It lead to an underground subway tunnel..
The upcoming encounter would prove to be an odd one. The figure was what seemed to be a man, blankly staring off into the distance but.. Doing nothing for whatever reason. It was a ghoul with some sort of humanity left where they haven't seem another human being in some time. If they were still capable of human emotion, I think they would be incredibly sad, scared or confused, but no. This was.. I don't know how to quite describe it. I feel as if I had to put this pre-war ghoul out of his misery and so I did. I hope he was able to move on after all this time.
There was a bright side to this, at least!
Finding the exit at the end of the tunnel, the blinding light was almost welcoming if it wasn't a complete flashbang to the face. I've ventured a bit far from where I began. I was several minutes away from diamond city and near a place taken over by Super Mutants. Recollecting myself, I'd recognized where I needed to go from here and went straight the hell back to base to rest and fiddle with the MP5 I'd scored earlier.
Home, sweet home.
