If you squint at my pfp, you can see the very top of a bag on my tummy. I get asked rather frequently why I'm rocking a fanny pack (which I totally fuckin' could), but in reality- that's my ostomy bag!
I've had severe Crohn's disease for the past 20 years, and have been rather unresponsive to most forms of medication. As such- I've required major surgery to keep me alive.
My most recent surgery was to remove my right ovary, my entire colon/rectum, and a portion of my small intestine. I now have a new "exit" via a portion of small intestine surgically fixed to my abdomen called a stoma.
This system is called an ileostomy. My stoma empties waste into my ostomy bag to keep me rolling through life with my Barbie Butt. Surgery is a pretty metal thing.

Oh! An ostomy bag! I thought that looked vaguely familiar. My wife's cousin needs to have one too.
It's so wild what they're able to do for our bodies to help us live our best lives!
