bring back minidiscs

for those who don't know, a minidisc was essentially the middle stage between cassette players and mp3 players, making it partly analog, partly digital.

what makes minidiscs so interesting is that they use a file format known as ATRAC, which is a compressed filetype in order to fit as much audio onto the discs as possible. this is entirely unique to minidiscs, and despite compressing files so much it still allows the players to produce incredibly high quality audio.

additionally, most minidiscs have between 70-120 minutes of storage on them (though that is likely to be less due to their age now) which is pretty neat considering their size.

minidiscs are a cool little footnote in portable music history, and if these interest you i highly recommend you get a reader and writer! (minidiscs are also relatively cheap to buy)

Only supporting one file format is a sin. How are you ever going to appeal to audiophiles if you can't deliver flac audio.
