Well, actually, I completed it a few days ago. :P
But God, was ever I exhausted from trying to get this thing up and running. I felt like I needed a week to recover from all the trouble it gave me - much of which was my own fault. x_x'' There was a period where I was troubleshooting for two days straight, only taking breaks to eat and vent. It was horrible.
Long story short, I tried to install an older Windows release onto hardware that was just too new for it. I had wanted to use something called *deep breath* Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2015. It's a special branch of Windows that comes without the bloatware, spyware, and nonsense "feature updates." I guess I just forget that 2015 was, yikes, nearly a decade ago.
Thankfully, though, that branch of Windows has newer releases. I was able to install the 2021 version, and it works perfectly. <333
In the end, I really do think all the hassle was worth it. I learned a lot, and this computer is so speedy, so lightweight, so smooth. I won't have to replace it in a few years because Windows'
stupid "feature updates" bogged it down (lookin' at you, laptops). It runs my ancient tablet and art program like a champ. ;_; <3 (Ohhh, I'm so excited to see how it handles games...)
This computer is one of several positive changes coming into my life after years of stagnation. Now, onward to getting my driver's license!
