For someone to be so exceptional
It's weird how they believe to be disappointing
How you can be perfect
But feel like a burden
Questions.
Are they just innocent curiosity remedies
Or something we've become dependent on for
Maybe reassurance
For a point to be proven.
What if I asked a question
Once a hearts given up on loving
Can it still be broken?
Or can it still be knocked off it's feet
Can someone's actions give hope and take it away?
Being hurt repeatedly
Pain being inflicted on the same wound trying to heal
It can develop a protection system
but there's almost always that one thing that slips past
I have a protection system
It's alarm has been going off for a while now
Something's intruded.
Weird thing is
I haven't been driven to emotional ruin yet.
Oh
They're fixing it
They're healing it
The wound-
Why?
Well anyone would want to fix up a place they'd like to stay in.

This is beautiful like im just in aw by all the imagery it really cleared a place for me like its cazy how you can somewhat understand something and then you put the last stanza and it just clicked everything together

I really like the 3rd to 4th stanzas, I love the imagery of the heart and the ‘protection system’ , it really hits close to home. The questions are really cool too because sometimes I feel like I can never trust again, and ask myself similar questions. It’s beautiful.

The last line of the poem hit on a whole new level- all of it was so meaningful and so close it was amazing
