Retro Gaming, dream list, and Wata Controversy...

So this morning I woke up to a fantastic present from my soon to be Wife.

It was a disk only copy of a game called Tombi. A game I had been searching for a reasonably priced copy, always just beyond my financial limits. When the game was in the double digits price range I was unemployed, and each time I've gotten to a point where I could afford it, the price would jump significantly above what I could afford.

I don't particularly care if my copy is disk only or CIB as I mainly want to play them on my original or modded hardware for that extra little hit of nostalgia.

I can't wait to sink my teeth into this game on my days off from work.

There are still a few games I'm trying to get hold of for reasonable prices. I loathe paying above their original retail price for the games and it's the main reason my collecting has slowed down over recent years. Some of this list will be bought over the coming months as their prices are reasonable.

Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
The Unholy War
Knuckles Chaotix
Ninja: Shadow of Darkness
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins
Tenchu 2
Wild 9
Crash Team Racing
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
Spyro the dragon
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
Spyro 3: Year of the dragon.
Treasures of the Deep
Parappa the rapper
Um Jamma Lammy
Bubba n' Stix

And so many more...

Also in other news, Wata games, that company making money of people wanting games to be financial investments (instead of a passion), are now being served a class action law suit that could spell the beginning of the end for their scam.

For the record I hated Wata ever since they started appearing on Pawn Stars back then. Their "Expert" was always overvaluing games and hyping up how rare games are. Often claiming rarity beyond their actual rarity.  And as such inflating the price for the show.

"Following these disclosures, the prices for the games that Wata and Heritage Auctions were selling started falling. On July 11th 2021, prior to the allegations being released, a copy of Super Mario 64 graded by Wata as 9.8 A++ sold for $1.56 million dollars through Heritage Auctions. After the allegations, a copy of the same game graded at 9.6 A++ sold for $102,000 through the same website on October 29th 2021. Much later on April 22nd 2022, a copy of said game at the same grading level sold for $57,600."

Hopefully we will see the retro game market return to some kind of stability.
