Heya! wanna quickly talk about games, gotta be brief cuz im busy but i still wanna be active here!
Celeste is a really difficult platform (and a bit of rage) game about a girl named Madeline climbing a possibly magical mountain. Why is she climbing? Who will you meet? What is at the top? You find little snips of answers throughout the game, but as you do sometimes more questions keep arising. The story elements are intriguing, but the gameplay… its not “hard”, it is just challenging. I feel like a dumbass when I fail jumps, but a worthy dumbass; I always know exactly what I’ve done wrong and what to do better next time. I have not beaten the game yet, but it has been a delight to play, and I would recommend it to any platform fans who enjoy a challenging but rewarding game! Also… the soundtrack goes hard sometimes.
Slay the Spire is a deckbuilding roguelike dungeon crawler where you play as an adventurer climbing the ever-treacherous Spire. It is a gigantic tower with whole cities, monsters, bosses, merchants, magic, and the like, with some unknown evil plaguing the top and growing more and more present as you climb. Play as an Ironclad, the last soldier of your legion who has made a pact with demons. Or perhaps play as the Silent, an assassin from the foggy marshes who had mastered the art of the blade and poisons. Every character feels fleshed out, and each’s corresponding skills feels alive and following theme while fleshing out play styles. And even so, within each character there is the possibility for multiple, arguably infinate builds! Want to overwhelm your opponent playing a ridiculous amount of chip damage cards? Play the silent and focus on shivs! However, maybe you are bored of shivs and need to kill large enemies with crazy health. Change up your build and go hard on poison! Its addictive and a ton of fun, and although I’ve heard criticism of the art style, I think it is very reminiscent of hand-drawn DnD.
No words. I wont spoil any of it. If you havnt played Omori, it is an amazing RPG with deep and dark themes. If you dont know what I’m talking about, drop the phone, never look up the game, and get it. Seriously. Dont spoil it for yourself. The gameplay? kinda mid honestly. The music and story? i get lost in it. Artwork for battles really works too. Dont let me ruin any of it, just play it sometime if you dont know it. And oh, dont look into the community. They will spoil the game for you. A million times over
