The Bad Pg. 105 - 107 Edward has gone full stalker mode. And he has spent a whole page feeling guilty about breaking human laws. Sheesh! What a baby! When Edward sees a spider there’s a paragraph about what kind of spider it is and how it’s harmless to humans. It slows the story down so much. Good on showing how observant and dorky Edward is but Stephanie could have shortened that bit by A LOT! Pg. 108 Edward is whining about being the bad guy. He’s not. He killed a few abusers. He did the world a favor. You want to know who an actual bad guy is, who has killed innocent people? Quinn. Quinn is an actual bad guy. He’s manipulative and violent and loves watching people suffer at his hand. But he’s also very gentle towards those he cares for. He hates seeing his loved ones in any kind of pain. There’s nuance to Quinn. I think Stephanie is trying to make Edward a complicated character but she failed so badly. Edward is guilting himself over things that don’t matter and it’s annoying. Pg. 109 Edward has a big emotional moment when Bella says his name in her sleep. The Good Pg. 112 Bella actually has a few cute lines on this page. I laughed a little. Pg. 113-115 These pages read like an actual book! The pacing was good and some of the dialogue was kind of funny. I did like seeing Bella all mad and flustered through Edwards eyes. Overall Thoughts One of Stephanie’s biggest issues in this book is that she spends so much time on boring details. I don’t care how Edward concludes that Bella being poisoned by carbon monoxide isn’t that probable. The last few pages were pretty entertaining. Yay.
