CBYPAAT Devlog #8

This devlog didn't make the cut of being published on the day it was meant to but thats ok because its a big one.

World 2 (The Beach) is now complete. Every level is made, even the ones that had to be reworked because I decided that bouncy walls were a shite mechanic. Every level is also set up to have the right name, be bug free and work within the systems of the game as it presently exists. The only thing missing is a level select, but I plan to make the full game level select once every level is made, depending on how many levels I want to put in the game.
As for now tho, World 2 is finished - Pog.

Devlog Changes:
  • Made the final 2 levels of World 2
  • Fixed the 5 levels in World 2 that used bouncy walls so that they weren't cringe anymore
  • Renamed tutorial levels to reflect the removal of bouncy walls
  • Changed all world 2 walls to be purple, their originally planned colour, rather than blue, the cringe colour they had to have due to bouncy walls stealing purple.
  • Fixed a bug in the left facing pawns to make them actually move (changed a '+' to a '-')
  • Fixed the graphics on the cursor to make it not look as weird (basically I noticed that I forgot to actually change a sprite I thought I changed)
  • Made a method for 12x12 sized levels, which were previously too big for the screen (the method is to zoom out the camera, but carefully so the screen is still pixel perfect and readable)
Not sure what I'm going to do now. Now that world 2 is done I could take a break and play some video games, but I'm currently pretty in the zone for working on CBYPAAT, and I'm enjoying myself, so maybe I should keep working on it and start on making the key mechanics for world 3 (volcano) tomorrow.
Either way, world 2 is done, this is another big milestone, and it again happened quicker than I thought it would, so I'm extremely happy with it.
I'm not going to upload a video for all the levels in World 2 like I did for World 1 in this blog, as I want to go to sleep rn, so maybe I will for tomorrows devlog so that whomever the fuck actually reads these people can see what world 2 looks like.

I've decided to take a break to study for my exams, so it will be possibly more than a few days till the next devlog goes up
