last night and today i've been babysitting my little brother, which at times is fun and at other times is akin to a sentencing at alcatraz. i can make jokes about alacatraz since it is not a functioning prison anymore. or is it.
anyways, we started the day by watching my neighbor totoro which he had never seen and i had seen many times. that movie always makes me want a kid even though i dont really want a kid because it shows the depth of childhood wonder and magic and i want to foster that in a child of my own but i probably never will because money and time.
we then met up with one of his school friends at the town park which made me a little emotional bc he is now big enough to meet up with a friend in a town park. while they played i started reading "queer" by william burroughs and bought a latte (honeylavender with oat milk)
we also went with said friend to the candy store underneath the t-shirt & hat shop where we purchased skittles for lincoln, a crunch bar to share, and a packet of "mexican spice" flavored larva for myself.
we walked back to the bark for them to play for a bit longer and this time i talked with his friends mom who has a sister living in kuwait teaching kids english which i think is really cool. she also hates florida just like me.
when we got home we ordered pizza (mine cheesepineapplebananapepper his just cheese) and watched spirited away. i know spirited away is supposed to be hayao miyazakis magnun opus or whatever but it simply is no howls moving castle.
afterwards we played racko (old people game) and slayed to lady gaga.
also, almost forgot! the crunch bar was a delight as always and the larve tasted like nothing at first then shit at second.
