Thoughts on Chapter 4 of Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer

Pg. 74

It is mildly interesting seeing how the Cullens responded to Edward saving Bella from being crushed by that truck.

Emmitt is the MAN! I really do like his character. He’s being such a bro to Edward.

Pg. 73

“I went back to school. This was the right thing to do, the most inconspicuous way to behave.” - Chapter 4, Midnight Sun

LITERALLY NO ONE CARES! There is a thing called the spotlight effect where a person believes everyone is watching them all the time. This is why tripping on a sidewalk crack or knocking over something small on a store shelf can feel embarrassing. But honestly no one is looking at you.

My ex mom did this thing all the time where she would say stuff like “people are looking at you! Stand straight!”

No one was looking at me. 

Maybe in the world of Twilight, because everyone apparently cums whenever a Cullen or Bella is within 5 feet of them, they’re all watching the Cullens and Bella more closely, building a fantasy for when they’re alone in their room later that night. That would make this opening make sense. I’m just going to go with that logic I guess?

Pg. 75

Would it kill Stepahnie to make Edward less super duper special. Apparently Edward and Emmitt are evenly matched when it comes to wrestling because Edward can hear his thoughts? Give Edward a weakness other than his blood boner for Bella! He doesn’t have to be the best at everything! 

Pg. 76

I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! CARLISLE IS A CULT LEADER!! I’m on to you robot vamp daddy! Also poor Esme. :-( 

I bet The Transformed Wife loves this. If you don’t know who she is, consider yourself lucky. 

Pg 78-86

This is STUPID! They are literally just sitting around talking, making mountains out of molehills after a bunch of build up. I thought there was gonna be a fight between the Cullens but nope. Just talking. I am so bored!!!!!

I could almost understand if humans posed a threat to the cullens but they don’t. Also in the real world NO ONE WOULD CARE if they moved. But apparently in this world EVERYONE would notice and it would be such a big deal because the residents of Forks would only have Bella to lust over. 

Overall Thoughts

There is a lot of planning and very little actual action. It’s borning. I know Stephanie thinks it adds suspense but unless things ACTUALLY HAPPEN all that suspense falls so flat.
