More PegaKitty babble (hat edition)

My mascot PegaKitty wears a cute black and purple toque. I call it the PegaKitty hat.

She wears a hat for multiple reasons; 1 being she has trichotillomania (hair pulling madness), 2 its a reference to a Japanese saying "to wear a catty hat" AKA be really shy, and 3, it's a comfort object.

She doesn't wear it 24/7; in fact she's mostly hatless when she's inside. She will sometimes take the hat off outside when she feels she's in good company.

I personally do not wear hats. I only wore hats for a short time during my school years, but only because I had hats donated to me when I first shaved my head due to severe hair pulling resulting in bald patches.

PegaKitty wears a hat because she represents me and my naivete when I was younger.

Her hat is cute, and I find it to be quite iconic. Like, you'd see it and you'd think of her, you know? The design choice comes from a winter hat I had IRL, but had to be thrown out.

PegaKitty's hair style is short and very curly. When I draw it, it looks like a cloud sitting on her head, that's because I'm still learning how to draw hair.

As Empurress (spoiler alert??), she doesn't wear the hat anymore. She still has trichotillomania, but she applies a magical concoction to her bald spots everyday so her hair grows back quickly. She doesn't feel constricted by wearing hats, hats are a cute accessory, but as for the PK hat, she feels she's outgrown it.

She wants to recycle it into something else one day, or give it to her child.

its like how you might still hold onto toys from your childhood. They were an important part of your childhood, but you can't bear the thought of parting with them unless they'll be put to good use.

again, the hat is a comfort object. PK feels good when she wears it, it's made of a very soft material. It's also great for fidgeting with.

Idk how to end this babbling session, but I hope you enjoyed reading!
