My plants (05/2021)

Finally: update on my plants! Some interesting things happened since the March blog.

Most of the plants that can be seen in that blog entry are still with me: I gifted some of the succulent propagations. I kept the mother plans. The jade has grown sooo much. He had a little problem with pests, but all of them are ok and recovered.

As I said, my birthday was on April. A friend of mine gifted me a Monstera Adansonii and a Maranta Leuroneura. They are gorgeous. In this two months they grew some new leaves also.
This is the adansonii. And this is the biggest leaf. It unfurled a couple of weeks ago and I still can't believe how beautiful it is. I can't stop looking at it.

This is the maranta. I lost count of many new leaves it had since it arrived. At least 5, all of them bigger than the previous one. I still don't fully understand the colors of the leaves: why some are clearer? Why some unfurl darker? I love it anyways. That wonky branch will be my first propagation from this plant: looks so heavy it will break soon. It will go back to the mother plant.

And this is my jewel, by baby, my love. A plant that I didn't know I want until it was on my reach: an Alocasia Dragon Scale.
It's a rare plant that I never thought I could afford. I found a guy that was selling a couple of them -I guess he wanted to sell it quick instead of asking for the money it really costs.
It's more than beautiful. In pictures is beautiful, but in reallity is gorgeous. Look at those leaves!
It's still acclimating to my house. I thought it would lost a couple of leaves, but each one of them look good. So it's a double victory.
Let's see how it goes during summer and winter and maybe next spring I decide to propagate it.

Last but not least, my zz plant. It's so easy to take care of that I forget I still have it. I bought it in Ikea about six months ago. I knew it was big when I got it, but I've been to Ikea recently and all of the zz there were muuuch smaller than this. I know it grows slowly, but it's possible that is growing massive without me noticing it?
I already had to repot it. I know the roots were tight when I bought it, but there were almost no soil left in the pot. Now it's in a bigger pot. I can't say if it's happier than before because, I swear, this plant does nothing.

And that's it for these pasts months. I'd say I have no plans to get any new more plants in the next months -I'm running out of space and I'm already having problems finding new appropiate spots for the ones I already have. But on my birthday I took cuttings from a nearly dead hoya that are still in water, with no roots but definetly alive. I don't know how long they would last or if they still would develop roots in the future. And I'm carrying a pair of gardening scissors in my bag everytime I go out and last week I found a pothos that could be sooo easy to take a cutting of...
