I can’t help thinking of Sonny Boy. This anime, has impacted me the most, has topped my list and my thoughts. From the visuals, to the curated soundtrack, to the characters themselves. I adore this show. And the way it’s ending and message, can be interpreted so widely and differently.
I’m a firm believer in that a show, will mean something different to you on each rewatch. That no single person experiences and creates emotional ties to shows, because everything in life is just an amalgamation of what we are exposed to.
And in Sonny Boy, in my first watch I saw the tragedy in having to move on and grow up-because it terrified me back then ( like 4 months ago lol.)
-And then my first rewatch, I thought where did the rest of the class go? Why is there story so wiped out and forgotten? What did they do with their time until the passed in the Other World?
- My next rewatch I thought about Rahjadani and his story: a brilliant mind a creator who spent many years ( at least 2,000 canonically) exploring worlds and meeting people. Why did he choose to become a forest? Why on Mt. Hatenro? Did he miss the ‘life’ The process of growing old and his family?
