musical obsessions, 3 artists review

today's theme: musical artists I'm enjoying!

first off, Doja Cat. I am a simp for her vibe. And just to get this out of the way, yes I have heard that there was some controversy, no I do not know/have not looked into it, and dont intend to do so. I'm judging this based on personal enjoyment of the sound of their shit. So idk and dont really care what they are like. thats kinda my take on art: as long as their personality doesnt influence their work, i dont care if I dont like em as a person. Idk why im ranting, i didnt actually find anything incriminating or unlikable on doja cat, just heard a rumor which is prolly wrong. So, on the actual note of some of her work. I havn't heard enough to judge it as a whole, but from what I have it is so great. I like it, it seems like she has a lot of range. Her older stuff have a bit of vaporwave in them, and newer stuff seem pop-ier and RnB. I'm not complaining, I like what ive seen. Wont Bite (down bad song) and 4 morant are ones that really stood out to me, although ive heard some others too. I like her vibe, i relate to the tone of each in a lil bit, even tho they are opposite vibes almost. Anyways. Im bad at this, give her a listen maybe.

next. Chris Christodoulou. I love Risk of Rain 2. God that game is so good.  only complimented by an amazing track that fucking rules. just enough of the synth with a bit of electric guitar and bass and drums to bring in some rock and create otherworldly tunes. Occasionally, you'll just be doing something mundane, and the beat *drops*, hard. ANd you pause what your doing, and just catjam out to the tunes. Anything from the Risk of Rain 2 album. The names for songs are really funny too ig. 

Mitski! a classic. she has an amazing alto (i think its alto?) voice, and her songs are such a vibe. It reminds me that new takes on pop hit hard. Her songs are a lil swingy, and tell a story. Her voice is bittersweet and really conveyes a lot of emotion. Its passionate, but with a bit of baggage behind every word, or atleast thats how it sounds to me. I love it so much. I should probably listen to her stuff more, but one song I remember was Me and My Husband. Great musician. 

I already took my tired meds when I wrote this, so its a lil lower quality then id hoped. However, I plan on continuing explaining 3 things in my style on occasion! tune in later this week or so if you wanna see more of this.
