Story: My incomplete quest for a shiny Sylveon

I know I'm edgy, but its really cliche to me how much I like dark and poison types. Easily my favorite types, the designs are occasionally bad but the good ones hit hard. After that im a Ghost type and Dragon type fan. Usually when I play the games, I try to get my favorite badass pokemon and run really heavy hitting teams. So when I got an eevee, I wanted to grab an Umbreon or Espeon. Thing is, I usually max out friendship for the extra XP, and I didnt remember that I had Baby-Doll eyes in the fourth slot. Was pretty suprised to find the sylveon when it evolved, but I'd already gotten attached to the eevee so I let it stay in my team. Thats when I fell in love with sylveons. I'm not a huge fan of pink or the fairy type aesthetic (Im not one of those macho guys I just aint really attached to it). But for some reason, the design really hit hard. I liked the pokedex entries too- paints sylveon like a coldhearted badass. The fairy type was super useful, and it tanked hits like a beast. I took it all the way to the League and won, and by the end of the game it was atleast 10 levels above all my other pokemon. I headcannon sylveons as acting frilly and elegant as a rouse, and they use their dainty looks to stalk prey and get peoples gaurds down. Badass shit... idk I really just have a soft spot for them lmfao.

So after I beat the game and went back and full cleared, I recieved the Shiny charm. For fun, I said huh, lets just try and hatch a few eggs and see if we can get a shiny eevee. Oh boy, that was a big mistake. This was 6 months ago. Fast forward to today, Ive done research and hours on shiny hunting. I have 166 hours in the game, and have hatched 327 eevees. 327 eevees. I'm really shit at chaining SOS, so I had to hatch most of them by hand with taurus charge and the Masuda method. If you don't shiny hunt and don't know what that means, just know it takes a shit long time. I have more than 10 boxes filled, if you include the large random quantity of eevees laying around in other boxes unorganized. I even had the time to chain SOSs enough to get the secret ability eevee with Anticipation cuz I wanted Pixilate on my shiny. This isn't even counting IVs and natures and all that shit. I never thought I would go down this rabbit hole, but I have put way too much time and effort into this. No shiny. 50+ hours atleast on this over the course of 6 months, and nothing. I've checked forums and read wikis and even own the Sun and Moon guidebooks. No shiny eevee. I dont even need one with the nice natures or secret ability or IVs, I just really want a shiny sylveon cuz I like sylveon. But no, the game spits in my face. I'm salty if you couldn't tell lmao. None of my friends are as interested in pokemon as I am, and those who are have already done modest shiny hunts in Sword and Shield and got their favorites within 10 hours or so, but sometimes less. For me, I feel like I'm cursed. Its almost an addiction; I kinda wanna stop the hunt, I don't even really play the game anymore. But whenever I see my 3DS, I spend like another 3 hours on the hunt to no avail. If I ever do get the eevee, I'll post about it here.... but until then, my useless pursuit of Shiny Sylveon continues.
