Where I've been and SpaceHey comeback disappointment

Hey, long time no see. For the past couple of years all my web design time has been spent making my new website (work on the current version started on November 2025, had to throw out a failed version that I worked on since late 2022, oof), and now that that's finally done I decided to check back here a few days ago and oh boy, I wish I had picked a better time to come back to SpaceHey.

Things aren't looking so good around here, huh? New profile pictures are not working (wish I didn't try to change mine...), moderation has been changed to a mysterious new model that we still know nothing of, there's dissent and racist rage bait in the top blogs, account creation is now available by invitation only and An has been silent for the past few months while the place burns. You probably know all this better than me if you have stuck around while I was busy elsewhere.

Having seen the current state of affairs here I must say my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined. I really thought after spending so much time remaking my website and being away from SpaceHey for so long that I could finally come back, catch up with friend requests and messages, publish a blog or two, maybe even some bulletins, but I didn't expect what was waiting for me, a website in the process of dying. I can't bear to see the site like this, not when my profile pic is stuck in the default unset one, I can't even see my fursona's cute kitty cat face there anymore, what a shame... I published a blog post on my website today about all this if you want to read it: "The absolute state of SpaceHey".

Needless to say that given the current state of this platform I won't be sticking around here anymore. If you are one of my friends here or you wanted to add me as one I suggest you go to the contact page on my website and send an email to the address listed there, or maybe give me a follow on Bluesky and send me a message over there (chat is enabled for followers only to reduce spam). If you are sticking it through these rough times on SpaceHey you have my sympathies, I hope it gets better with time, but honestly I doubt it.
