I remember a few summers ago when we ran through the field of flowers. It felt as if each flower blossomed as we ran towards sunset. I could never imagine running through the field alone. Nor could I imagine that my petals were just waiting to blossom in the springtime.
That summer was unforgettable.
There are people you meet in your lifetime that help you to grow no matter the outcome. When too much time is involved in another person's life, it starts to control your own, taking over you mentally and physically.
I was lost in the field, and I forgot to water my own petals. I forgot what it was like to look past the sunset.
It was the dependency of another body next to mine. one who couldn't show me the world. It was the expectation of this fairy tale that my true love would show me what my inner childhood self wished I had. It was this mindset I felt I needed a strong connection to enjoy life and to understand what brings out the best version of myself.
