You rot,
And language fails you.
Every syllable collapsing in your mouth
Before it can mean anything.
The dark is absolute,
The end of all contrast,
Feeling is stripped clean,
Peeled back to nothing.
Nothing you said ever held weight,
Every word already hollow,
Already dead on arrival,
Like you were always meant to vanish.
And still,
You spoke.
Begging for a god to save you,
As no one dies a non-believer.
