i dont hate social media

i dont hate social media, i hate the state of social media in the modern day. 

i really want to live like its the 2000s. i KNOW that not everything was perfect back then (far from it), but i just want to experience being a teenager in a way thats actually fun. i hate that everything today is so dilluted. everything is just this grayish sludge intstead of individual shapes and colors. i want to live in a time when things didnt feel so restricted. when there werent so many "solutions" to harmless teenage rebellion.

it feels like 99% of the internet is obsessed with being "nonchalant" and trendy. everyone is stupidly judgemental, uncreative, ignorant, insecure yet so incredibly un-self-aware.

even within the alternative community, people are obsessed with conforming. putting themselves and others in boxes while grabbing their pitchforks and yelling "POSER!!!!! POSER, I SAY!!!!!!" if a person DARES say they identify with a subculture because dont you understand?!?!? youre supposed to act like you dont care!!!!!!!! LIKE SYBAU ILL CALL MYSELF EMO CUZ I AMMMMMMMMMGHUGHH CRY ABOUT IT

its so difficult to BE on social media how it is today. if you speak your opinion, youre cringe. if you do something you like, youre cringe. if you EXIST in a way thats just a little WEIRD, youre CRINGE and you deserve to be HANGING. IN THE GALLOWS. PUBLIC EXECUTION. BEHEADING. STRAIGHT TO THE GUILLOTINE.

social media nowadays is just so fucking ass istg im gonna sound like a boomer, im a teenager i swear guys🙏 everything is a SUBSCRIPTION, everything is an online THING that you can SIGN UP FOR. I JUST WANNA BUY STUFF AND OWN IT, IS THAT SO WRONG?? i love physical media. i got a discman for christmas and man i love it so much (if only it didnt need new batteries every eight hours sighh..) BUT. i dont hate ALL social media. most of the mainstream social media apps- tiktok, instagram, twitter (not calling it "X" i hope elon musk falls into a pool of acid), snapchat, fuckin uhhhhhhghmgm facebook(??)- SUCK they suck absolute balls, BUT. i dont want to cut social media completely out of my life. of the ones i listed, i only have tiktok and twitter, and i barely use them (mostly cuz i forget abt them LOL). i want to just have social media where i can make friends, interact with people, share interests, get inspired, have FUN. although spachey has a buncha issues, i love the concept of a myspace replica. i love tumblr. i love ao3. AO3. I SWEAR TO GOD AO3 HAS THE BEST COMMUNITY. i would LOVE if there were more websites like spacehey (maybe without all the uh STUFF), if anyone knows any PLEASE LMK PLEASEEEEE

also i just wanna touch ont the AI thing real quick (if you want my opinions on it, here you go)å can we NOT have it fucking EVERYWHERE??? I DONT NEED A SINGLE AI CHATBOT IN MY LIFE, ESPECIALLY NTO ONE ON EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE EEEEEVVVVVVEEEERRRRRR
