When i say "computer" i mean my arch linux os, hp laptop with intel i3 had it's fan broke down
My mom says it's because i use it on my bed, while charging and a lot of the times overnight
I don't want to believe her, but she might as well be right. I want to know if it is possible for the laptop to get it's fan broken because i use it in bed, because i still have this little hope She's wrong of what she is saying to me

Don't know much about laptops but uhh probably if you use it on a bed because obviously resting anything like a laptop which is hot on something like a blanket or bed or pillow is bad

I dont know a lot about laptops but i know a good amount and you using it on your bed and the fan being broken could totally be correlated
laptop fans can break due to overuse, and using you laptop on your bed (it being on a surface like your mattress can make it overheat), overnight (using it for long periods of time), and charging (which can cause some laptops to overheat in its self, mine does at least) can definitely break the fan.
technically its not *just* because you used it on your bed, but more the fact you using it on your bed (as well as the other things you listed) caused your laptop to overheat frequently and need to use the fan more often which is the actual reason it broke.

Do you use a flat book, a smooth surface or anything for your laptop or are you just placing it on your legs with the blanket?
The fans shouldn´t get in touch with any cotton or other material because little particles could get stuck in the fan and the functionality gets limited.
Plus charging it overnight a lot of times (for a good battery life: Lowest: 20%, highest: 80% capacity) could cause this.
So yeah, your mother might be right.
