children should not be allowed to be unsupervised on the internet.

this is kind of a rant

i feel like a lot of us as young adults can agree that the internet is not a safe space for children. every day it seems like its easier and easier for strangers to contact minors and have inappropriate conversations and there is a lot of stuff on the internet that is easy to find and deeply traumatizing for even fully grown adults to be seeing.

as someone that grew up with unsupervised internet access, i came across a lot of things and people i shouldnt have, and that caused me to not be able to live my life lie a child should have. too often children are taken advantage of by adults and there is such an easy solution to stop these things from happening. i understand that strict parents create sneaky kids, believe me i was one of those kids. but there has to be a way to let these kids grow up and be kids.

its also horrible enough that young children are exposed to the body shaming on magazines at stores but the amount of unrealistic standards put in the media for men, women and everyone in between is not something kids should be subjected to.

i dont know at the end of the day, the more time passes the younger kids will be on social media but its wrong
