I Saw Ghost Recently

I got to see the metal band Ghost recently. It was my first time going to an arena for a concert. I'm used to smaller more intimate venues so this was a huge change. Lots of people and security measures I'm not used to. We had to put our phones in these magnetic closed bags the entire time we were in the venue, which kinda sucked because I was quickly tapped out on merch and forgot to move money. Whoops, oh well. I met someone cool that spoiled me a bit, and I can't express enough gratitude to her. Thanks again, M!

I'm definitely not used to arena seating so that was a surprise. The show started with the curtain falling after the first chorus and was an incredible entrance. I won't explain the entire show but the backdrops were detailed and added so much eye candy to the performance, the stage transitions and effects made so many of the songs even more memorable. Pyrotechnics, smoke, fireworks, light effects, it was fantastic. The energy of the crowd added to it as well. I could tell that everyone was passionate about the music and what it meant to them.

The show was a fantastic time, but I'm not a big fan of arena shows. I prefer the simpler and more personal vibes of smaller venues. Where you can be right up at the stage with the artists and banter with them in between songs, along with getting some fantastic pictures if you have the opportunity. I think it just depends on who you're seeing. I think if Perfume (Japanese pop) were to perform at an arena with their big light shows and their multi-directional stage then it would suit the venue well. I've always gone to smaller venues for my concerts and I've loved each one (except the Cambridge Room at the House of Blues in Dallas).

Overall, fantastic way to spend a night seeing so many cool people in fantastic costumes (loved all the ladies in nun outfits and corpsepaint) that love this band as much as I do, and I think I'd do it again. Even if it's at a similar venue. It was worth the drive, the price, and the arena logistics.
