The universe is plotting against me

2/05:
I was looking at Nendoroid doll parts because I was wanting to double-check some info I was going to give someone when I was struck with the idea to buy stuff for and make a custom figure of my favorite Fruit Ninja character.
I decide I want to transfer my old Goodsmile account (under my parents' e-mail and name) to my own e-mail (and name). The shop updated, so I needed to do a password reset, but I don't know my parents' e-mail password (or how to get into it), so I wait until tomorrow.

2/06:
My dad helps me get into the e-mail account. I end up resetting the password and putting my information in. The account is now mine, yay!
I link the account to Goodsmile's faceplate maker, and for the next 5~ hours I work on making 6 faceplates. I decide I'll tweak some details the next day.

2/07:
I log back into the faceplate maker and make some adjustments to the faces. Once I felt happy with them, I put them (as well as six blank faces and some hand parts) into the cart and try to check-out.
My card is declined.
I ask my mom if I can use her credit card.
Her card gives an error message.
Oh well, I have until the 26th (in Japan) to get this sorted out. I'll call the bank tomorrow.
I also find out that the Nendoroid doll body I want is a Japan exclusive version. Oh well, I place an order request with the proxy site I use (since I was unable to find one second-hand). They get back to me that they have already reached their limit as to how many of that specific item they can buy.
I find another proxy site, which accepts the buy request this time. I try to pay with Paypal since it's an option. I get an error message. I try my credit card, and the button to pay stays greyed-out even though I put all the information I need into the boxes. I have 47 hours to pay or else the request will be deleted.
I'll figure it out tomorrow since it's getting late.

2/08:
Called the bank. Turns out my card was locked. Confirmed the activity was indeed me trying to buy something. Got the card unlocked in around 6 minutes after the call started. Yay!
I go to place the order for the faceplates, but the button to proceed is greyed-out. Turns out their shipping service is down for maintenance until 7am in Japan. It is 3am (currently 4am as of writing this). Okay, I'll just wait then.
I go to the proxy site again to see if I can make my payment for the doll body. Still shows the button greyed-out. I tried to see if maybe I needed to add the extra 4-digits to the end of my zip code, so I go to the USPS website to find it with my address. It says the information could not be found. Even though I used that same website just a few days ago. I ended up just pulling it from my Goodsmile account's info, but it didn't make a difference.
I sent the proxy site a message and am now waiting for a response. I have around 34 hours to pay or else the request will be deleted.
UPDATE 1: The payment for the faceplates (and some hand parts) went through! I did actually end up changing my selection of hands, so, maybe it was a good thing that there was a several-hour gap in time. The total cost ended up being $97.97, which I thought was funny. If you're wondering why it's so expensive, I ordered a dozen faceplates (6 printed, 6 blank) as well as the hands (I forget how many sets of hands I ordered). Also shipping is pricey, as usual.
UPDATE 2: The proxy site has responded to my message. They suggested I try a different browser, which I ended up doing, however the issue persisted. They asked me to send screenshots if it was still not working, so I did so as well. Now I shall wait again. However, the site now says I have less than 1 hour to pay for my item before the buy request is deleted. The math isn't mathing here. Hopefully that's a mistake and I will be able to get all this sorted out. I want that gosh dang Nendoroid doll body in that specific color.

2/09:
The proxy site's check-out button lets me click on it now, however I get an error message. The error message for Paypal has changed as well. It's now more specific. I haven't gotten a response on my second e-mail yet.
I have 9 hours to pay for my item before the buy request is deleted.
UPDATE 1: I ended up canceling the order. I made an account with a different proxy service and tried their "custom" order form. Just hoping if I did it wrong they correct it later. The site layout kinda sucks though tbh. But anyway, I'll see how this goes. If it gets rejected I might contact them and ask for help, or just look for another site -.-
UPDATE 2: The other order ended up getting the shipping fee wrong, so I was refunded.
I got a message from the previous proxy saying they fixed the issue with the payment button, and to contact them if I encounter any more problems. I sent screenshots of the two different error messages I've encountered. Hoping they can get those fixed as well.
I resubmitted the item and it was accepted quickly. I now have 47 hours to pay for it once again.

2/10:
I received an e-mail response from the website apologizing for the inconvenience. They told me the error messages have been sent to their tech team to try and work out the issue, and they'll update me as needed.

2/12:
I received an e-mail saying that the issue has been fixed. And when I placed the buy order (again), and it was accepted, I was able to actually pay! Now I have to wait for the order to be processed. I'm really hoping they are able to buy this item (since the limit is 10 per customer).
Also, the customer service person's answers, while short, were very nice and understanding :D

2/13:
The order is currently still processing. I plan to look for a few other things I want to get on that website if the order goes through so I can save on shipping costs.
I checked my bank online to see if I got my refund from the other proxy I tried and saw that I have two pending payments for the same thing (the currently pending order). Hoping I don't get double-charged. If I do, I'm calling the bank again. $20 is $20 I don't want to lose due to an error.

2/16:
My order from Goodsmile has shipped, huzzah!
My order status is still "processing" for the proxy website. I am getting worried. I hope it's just taking them a little bit to buy it / they're waiting on it to ship. I know it's only been 4 days, but this website's given me enough issues that I hope this isn't another technical difficulty ;w;

2/17:
The proxy site is still processing my order.
However, I checked my shipping for the stuff from Goodsmile and:
*explodes into one-william pieces*
That's almost as much as I paid for the faceplates...

2/18:
It is 2:30 in the morning. I sent UPS an e-mail about the broker fee, which is $61. The actual government taxes or whatever is like, $11. Insane. Really hoping they can reevaluate that fee and bring it down to a more reasonable amount :P

2/19:
It is 4am.
I ended up paying the fees (which thankfully was $71 in total instead of $83) because this package is on the ABSOLUTE SHMOOVE! It went from Alaska to Kentucky within the span on 9 1/2 hours. I didn't want to pay any kind of extra fee (the other $12 would be for a "pay on delivery" fee), so I decided not to wait much longer to pay.
If they do end up responding to my e-mail, I'll see what it says and go from there -.-
(And if they don't, and if UPS gets into another lawsuit over these fees, you bet I'll wanna know about it.)
Also, as of writing this, my one item is STILL processing. If that status doesn't change in the next few days, I'm gonna shoot an e-mail their way, because I've been waiting a while (both to actually get to this point, and to further progress from here).
I also need to call my bank in the afternoon to fix that double-charge I got a while back :T
I am tired. I am kinda hungry. I'm going to BED.
UPDATE: My e-mail has been forwarded to two other people at UPS. Here's to hoping something can be done (a partial refund or some kind of info that could get me a chargeback would be sweet), or at least my concerns actually are taken into account (probably won't) =_=;

2/20:
I got a response from UPS again. All they did was just break down what each fee meant :P
I messaged the proxy service once again to ask what the "processing" order status means and how long it usually takes. My order has been processing for almost 8 days now. Not sure if this is normal or if there's a hold-up. I also don't know if that includes wait time for the item to be shipped or not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2/21:
I got a response from the proxy service. They said the "processing" status means my order is being prepared, which includes details being verified and packing the item. They also said they will update me with tracking info soon, but the odd thing is my package hasn't hit the "at warehouse" status. I haven't dealt with any of the shipping options at all yet. So uh...here's to hoping the person who sent the response just doesn't know what part of the process my order is at right now ^^;

2/23:
MY PACKAGE FROM GOODSMILE IT OUT FOR DELIVERY WOOOOOH!!!
Also, I got my invoice for my order from that proxy site. I have a notification saying that the status of the order has changed, but when I check it still says it's processing. Also, the notification won't mark itself as being read even though I clicked on it ¯\_( ' - ' )_/¯
UPDATE: MY PACKAGE!!! :D
Everything looks fine (I'm a little iffy about the mouth placement on one of the faces, but meh it'll be covered usually anyway) and I did get everything I ordered :3
I will, however, send a tactfully-worded e-mail to Goodsmile someday about the fact they probably could have consolidated the lines of the import customs forum because if they did, it would have saved me $33.

2/24:
THE DOLL BODY IS AT THE PROXY'S WAREHOUSE YIPPEEE!!!
HOWEVER, it seems I got charged again for it, so, I sent them yet another e-mail. Hoping they can refund the second charge so that I don't need to call the bank again (; =w=)
I'm going to be ordering some other items through them, so, I really hope they get that cleared up ASAP because I don't wanna get double-charged too bad (I'm using a credit card with a limited amount that I can spend at one time and idk what happens if something tries to exceed it).
UPDATE: OKAY so, I ordered some more items through that proxy and my suspicions have been confirmed. They have an issue with payments being double charged. Really hoping they can work this out because I only have so much money I can use right now ;w;
Also, tangentially related about ordering more things, if I am able to, I will be ordering items for another Nendoroid doll. I currently left out the two items I want to buy specifically for that one just in case.

2/25:
I have sent Goodsmile an inquiry about the lack of line consolidation on their invoices. Hoping this makes a change that can help people avoid the UPS fee in the future. Also...I noticed after I sent the message that there were two items that cost 330 yen instead of 300 yen, so what I sent was slightly inaccurate. Hopefully that doesn't discredit my point too much ;w;
Also, still waiting on a response from that proxy service. If they don't respond today, I'm going to call my bank tomorrow and dispute the second charge I got.

2/26:
Goodsmile replied to my e-mail saying they'll take my concern into account in the future.
Still no word from that proxy site yet. I didn't call the bank today, so I plan to tomorrow (unless I wake up to an e-mail from the proxy saying they'll refund me).

2/27:
I sent a proper support message to that proxy site (now also including the issue I have where the very first charge appears twice). I hope they can fix that issue with the invoice at least before they send me one for my second order, because I don't wanna have to call the bank again =_=;
Speaking of, yes, I did call the bank. I have a dispute open now for that second charge. I hope they're not like, "Nope, sorry, nothing wrong here" because yes, the value is different than the first time I paid, but that's because the value of Japanese yen went down a little.

2/28:
Yeah, I should have waited for a response from the proxy uwu;
They clarified that the "double charge" I received was actually a packing/shipping fee. However, I did not find any place in their policy that stated this would happen, so I informed them of that. I may have overlooked something, which I also mentioned (and apologized for).
I canceled the dispute with my bank, so that I can figure this out with the company.
Some of this hassle has just been me being to hasty and overcomplicating things. This is why anxiety sucks, my friends =w=;

3/1:
I forgot to mention that in my e-mail I asked if I could combine my orders, and I got a reply back from the proxy today saying they can! :D
I also ordered the last round of items (for now). After I paid, I got an e-mail from my bank saying I'll need to confirm it was me, so, I gotta call them AGAIN =_=;
(Also, technically happened on the 2nd, but since I haven't slept yet - One of the items I ordered in my second round of items ended up being sold, but they found an identical listing, which I confirmed was okay with me for them to purchase).

3/2:
OKAY! I did not have to call the bank :D
Just had to reply to a text message. Here's to hoping the payment goes through normally.

3/6:
My second order has arrived at the warehouse :D

This saga is on-going, so I will update it as needed.

The universe is unprepared for a figure of Rinjin Fruit Ninja to be created.
