You read that correct. This week, I'm filling you in on 10 things that I'm obsessed with this week. Feel free to copy me.
Hey, everyone! Welcome to my blog or welcome back to my blog. My name is A.A. Walker - certified weird girl - andΒ I post blogs every week, ranging from storytimes, photo dumps, Q&As, the works. If any of that interests you, be sure to leave me a kudos, comment, friend me,Β subscribe to my blog, do all the things!!! Anywhooo, let's get into it.
This week, I'll beΒ telling you about ten things I'm obsessed with this week! We all need our hyperfixations to keep us safe and feeling. Why not? Alright, let's go!

COMING IN AT NUMBER ONE IS... Bathtubs
From bubble baths, to 30-minute showers, to sitting in the empty bathtub drawing with the lights off.Β Whether Iβm drowning in eucalyptus bubbles, steaming away my sins for forty minutes, or just vibing in a dry tub with a sketchbook while itβs pitch black, the bathroom is my ultimate zen zone.Β Bathrooms have always been therapeutic from me. An oasis, a safe chamber of sorts. When things got rough at home, I went to the bathroom. I've woken up in bathrooms, eaten in bathrooms- shit, some of my best ideas have been on the toilet and in the steaming hot shower.Β
Here's a pro-tip: take a morning shower with the lights off and sing American Teenager by Bianca Espino (bc Ethel Cain is a rac!st piece of sh!t).
NUMBER TWO... Waist-tied Flannels
Oversized vintage to be exact. The classic red-and-black plaid are good, too. This includes just sitting in my room and last-minute flights. Knotting the sleeves perfectly over a pair of distressed jeans in the mirror has become a favorite hobby. Having that extra fabric acts as an indie-sleaze shield for my hips.
Hereβs a pro-tip: Find a thrifted, heavy-weight menβs XL, cinch it tight over a slip dress or a tank top, and thank me later.
NUMBER THREE... Layers of Neckwear
My current rotation is a total holy trinity of nostalgia and identity. Iβm stacking bead necklaces I scavenged from a Pride Parade, chokers I hunted down on Etsy, and those sentimental necklaces Iβve managed to keep since childhood and my freshman year of college. Itβs like wearing my entire timeline at once.Β I go to and fro to my jewelry box. Iβve fallen asleep in my jewelry. I've eaten while sporting a chest full of silver.Β From beaded strands, to tight chokers, to sitting in front of the mirror tangling five different chains together until my neck feels heavy, necklaces are apex.Β
Hereβs a pro-tip: Put on every single piece of neckwear you own - color-coded with your outfit - and add one choker.
NUMBER FOUR... Face Gems
Iridescent rhinestones. Twenty-minute applications. Meticulously-placed crystals. Adorning my skin is newish for me. There are plenty of kits out there, but I use ones from Five Below with some adhesive. I love going out in them and staring at my reflected sparkle in my transportable mirror.Β
Hereβs a pro-tip: do a full editorial eye look, sit on the bathroom sink, and use lotion beforehand.
NUMBER FIVE... Glittery Eyeshadow
Now this one I'm still playing with. Shimmer has become my absolute obsession. Who knew so much went into makeup? I want Euphoria-vibes, party girl tear smears, and holographic shades in the mirror. We're getting there, and I'm excited for the journey. My friend, Daniela, has been my makeup guru. Shoutout to her!!!Β
Hereβs a pro-tip: use YouTube tutorials, research the products, and get creative with it.
NUMBER SIX... Old Interviews
Lately, Iβve been spiraling down the rabbit hole of archival footage and celebrity sit-downs to decompress. There is something hauntingly comforting about watching Courtney Love spar with Nardwuar or letting the grainy audio of Nirvanaβs old press junkets lull me into a deep sleep. My digital sanctuary is built from Janis Joplinβs raw honesty and the enigmatic magnetism found in Prince or Michael Jacksonβs rare appearances. Iβll spend hours dissecting the legendary tension in Whitney Houstonβs rounds with Oprah, Barbara Walters, and Wendy Williams, or getting lost in the moody, unfiltered vibes of Sky Ferreira and Silverchair clips. I'm inching into N'SYNC interviews and going back to my 1D interview roots - I love boybands, sue me!
Here is a pro-tip: google "90s celebrity interview" and let these echoes of the past play in the dark. Itβs the ultimate psychological escape.
NUMBER SEVEN... Musicians that Never Made It
There's nothing as fascinating as the Van Gogh... the Robert Johnson... the artist that never made it. Music has always been my sanctuary. Too often we see the glitz and glamor of artists. I want the raw and uncut truth, which usually comes from those who weren't chosen by the Illum!nat!. I want stories of them crashing on those couches, living off gas station jerky, squatting in an abandoned building while making an album - all of it. As an artist myself, I want the good and bad. The success, climb, and the downfall.
Starter pack:
- The "Soon" Legends: Play some Sky Ferreira and Christina Grimmie while you wait indefinitely for an album thatβs never coming.
- The Radio Chameleons: Throw on Daya or Grace Vanderwaal to remember when ukeleles and synth-pop ruled the charts for a week.
- The Alt-Rock Survivors: Blast Waterparks, Wallows, or McKenna Grace for that specific "forever young, forever touring" energy.
- The Blog-Era Kings: Pay respects to MGMT and the Yeah Yeah Yeahsβthe blueprint for everyone who followed.
- The Internet Anomalies: Revisit the chaos of Gabbie Hanna, the redemption of Rebecca Black, and the AI-pioneer weirdness of Grimes.
NUMBER EIGHT... Tubi Movies
Iβve traded the traditional box office films for the chaotic, beautiful rabbit hole of free streaming. There is something profoundly healing about getting lost in a low-budget thriller or a bizarre indie flick that no one else has heard of. Tubi has become my digital sanctuary, a safe haven where the weirder the plot, the better I feel. When the world outside gets too loud, I retreat into the depths of their "Leaving Soon" category. Iβve stayed up until sunrise bingeing cult classics and grabbed lunch while deep-diving into obscure documentaries. Honestly, my creative spark always reignites when Iβm witnessing some unhinged, straight-to-video masterpiece.
Pro-tip: Put your phone on "Do Not Disturb" before you dive into an indie film marathon.
NUMBER NINE... Strawberry Cereal
Iβve ditched the boxed stuff for a DIY bowl that is pure, unadulterated serotonin. My morning ritual has become my daily meditation: grabbing a handful of fresh berries, slicing every single one into four pieces, and tossing them into a bowl (if itβs not pink, the vibes are off). I drown them in chilled almond milk, add a few ice cubes for that crisp temperature, and - in the word of my French ancestors - voila! Itβs the most refreshing "cereal" on the planet. When life feels messy, this simple, icy sweetness is my grounding force. Iβve prepped this at midnight and eaten it for brunch. There's nothing like that last cold strawberry.Β
Pro-tip: Couple it with some yogurt and jelly toast. It's a breakfast for the nymphs and gods of Greece.
AND, TO TOP IT ALL OFF, AT NUMBER TEN... Men with Piercings
Iβm currently biting my nail over a very specific aesthetic, and honestly, itβs becoming my entire personality. There is something magnetic about a man with the right hardware. Blame Matthew Lillard's character, Tim Laflour, in Senseless. I love a subtle nose stud, a bold septum, scrotum piercing, or a pair of hoops that catch the light just right. For me, that glimmer of silver or gold is an immediate signal of style and edge. When my feed gets boring, I go hunting for that alt-guy energy. When I go outside, I'm a fly trap for men with well-placed brow piercings. I had a conversation with one this Tuesday about bowling and militaria. If I end up saying "fuck it" making out with one, I'll let y'all know.
Pro-tip: Admire from afar - do not date or mate with these men.
...Cheers! To the tears! And mental health issues I've had for years!
