I think I'm going to be admitted to a mental hospital

It's not certain, but I think I'll be admitted to a psychiatric hospital next week. Has anyone been to a psychiatric hospital before, what's it like there, and can you offer any advice?

You have two options:

Tell the workers there everything you think about and take therapy as literally as you can, which may lengthen the duration of your stay, but also probably get the help you need a lot sooner, or
Fib and don't mention a bulk of your issues to speedrun the duration of the stay, but your problems most likely won't be sorted out

Depending on the ward, they may or may not allow any technology unless it's for schoolwork,. Be prepared to get really creative with your time, because free time runs as fast as a tortoise there. Privacy may be breached for your and/or other's safety.
