01.02.2022- Lethargy and Introversion

LONG TIME, NO SPEAK

It's Been A While..

Firstly, Happy New Year! Not gonna be optimistic this time cause the last few years have been officially horrible on a global scale. Gonna be realistic here and just accept that things may get worse but there also is always a chance of things getting better too. Like this December was one hell of a rollercoaster.
You probably remember my last entry where I was talking about my Dad could possibly be dying of COVID, and that he went into cardiac arrest in the ER waiting room. All I wanted for Christmas was for my Dad to make it through and go back home. He did not just recover, but he has been recovering much faster than the average severe COVID-19 case patients. He was officially diagnosed with COVID Pneumonia with Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure...also acute cardiac arrest upon presentation. Most people do not survive this and eventually become hospice patients even if they made it through the first 48 hours of ICU admissions. This means the pneumonia that was caused by the COVID virus was so severe that it filled the alveoli sacs in both lungs to the point they were no longer able to properly absorb enough oxygen...basically causing other organs to start shutting down (why he went into cardiac arrest). After resuscitation and admission my father was completely responsive and coherent. He was texting my brother and calling my step mom. They put him on multiple IVs, and standard O2 treatment at 2-3L to keep his blood oxygen saturation levels above 90%. Within less than a week, on December 23rd, my dad was discharged from the hospital, just in time for Christmas. He is still required to use an oxygen tank at home until his lungs mostly recover from the damage caused by the pneumonia. But eventually he should have a complete recovery.

My Dad with My Aunt Krissy (Christmas 2021)

A few days later my Aunt Krissy also has to go to the hospital and tested positive with both COVID-19 AND Influenza A. She was also experiencing side effects from a recent COVID vaccination. Thank gods she did this cause she was sent home the same day. She used to be totally anti-vax and even sent me videos on Facebook messenger from alt-right talk show hosts making these extremely false and misleading reports about the damaging effects of vaccines and how they "weaken the immune system". I think my Dad's near death experience prompted her and hopefully other members of my family to finally get vaccinated.

The plumbing got fixed at my house! No more shitting in camping toilets! It felt so good being able to take showers again too.

And hopefully soon I will have a new car! My friend's family is offering me their 2004 Pontiac Trans AM for a few dollars (so I can get the title of the car), and help me with any repairs it needs. It isn't anything fancy, but it should get me by until I have enough money to buy an even better used car. This one has over 190,000 miles on it. It's gas consumption is meh...but two summers ago, I helped replace the brakes on it and it was barely driven since so I know at least the brakes are still new. I think we replaced the tires too?? I cant remember. We drank a lot that day and I blacked out haha. But I have driven it before and it isn't a terrible car.

It dawned on me yesterday that somehow I went this entire pandemic without catching COVID. If I did, I was totally unaware cause I may have been asymptomatic. I was a public worker this whole time and the last four months I have been working at a hospital with COVID patients five days a week, and I still have yet to catch it. I have been around hundreds of people who were COVID positive. I guess I owe it to washing my hands as often as I can, wearing my N95 respirator everywhere, and being triple vaccinated. The last vaccination was great cause I had no side effects. And same goes to the flu shot I got too. Whoever gave me the shot had the pest precision ever. Even better than me!

Anyways, I'm gonna crash soon. I just cleaned my room and I am beat.
