Happy New Year 2026!

I don't think there's been a year quite like 2025 for me. It was rough in more ways than one, but I managed to pull through. I spent New Years with friends that I care for so deeply. 

My New Years' Resolution is to take far less shit from people. I joked to my friends that I'm gonna get "far more evil" in 2026. I'm not gonna accept blatant rude behavior done to me!

If I give handmake/bake someone a gift and they try handing it BACK to me afterward, I'm going to just COOK AND EAT THEM. I'm not gonna have people try to compare my art to the people around me and tell me that I'm "at least maybe 2nd or 3rd place"!!!! I'm not going to have people be passive aggressive to me about my major/work or give me unsolicited advice or tell me to my face that I'm "socially stunted" when meanwhile they mansplain the fuck out of music to me!!! I'm not going to deal with people shittalking my interests or try to diagnose me with random shit behind my back or ANYTHING like that! I'm also not dealing with any blatantly rude, selfish behavior masked up with therapy speak.

I encourage everyone to take less shit from people that don't value you! Treasure the people that do. We're in desperate need to hold onto community. I had a conversation recently about how people don't feel obligated to each other anymore. Everyone owes each other something and it's basic human decency and kindness. In order to have a community, you need to experience a little inconvenience. It takes a village! It's not a waste of energy to do things like pick your friend up from the airport, for instance. It's not a waste to pick your friends up to hang out. People are the most entitled they have EVER been! We live in a very transactional, hustle-culture kind of society and I think it's important to just step back and realize people are hurting their closest relationships by treating others like they are constantly in debt to them/a waste of time. 

TL;DR: In 2026, treat your friends with kindness, but don't take blatantly rude/selfish behavior. Let's be better people this year. To ourselves and to others.
