so starting off strong with my dad forcing me to make a Christmas list and then ignoring everything on it, happens every year so I can’t really be surprised. I wish he would have skipped my Christmas this year since I’m an adult and he said last year would be my last Christmas but whatev.
After I put on my list that I wear a size small in shirts (because I knew he wouldn’t get any of the items I asked for, just some random clothes he’d think I liked) he got me a FNAF shirt with the toys on it (I hate the toys) in a size too big so I can’t wear it anyway!! Wow!!
He also got me a nightmare before Christmas hoodie that I also will never be wearing because I don’t care for nightmare before Christmas nor was it on the list of medias that I liked that was on the SAME LIST where I informed him I wear a size small, which tells me he didn’t even look at it :DDD
Then he got me a gift card to a restaurant I can’t eat at because it makes me sick!! XDD and then I gave it to my sister lol
And last (but certainly fucking least), a 400 page book about the “rules of life” that he expects me to read. Not only will this not help me in life, but I hate being forced to read things I don’t want to read which is exactly what caused my love for reading to fall apart at a young age, isn’t that so cool?? wow guys this holiday is so awesome it definitely doesn’t remind me of the fact that none of my family knows anything about me or cares to know anything about me and now I have a bunch of garbage taking up space in my room that I can’t get rid of!! this totally doesn’t fill me with indescribable rage for no apparent reason and make me want to leave my house in the middle of the night to go lay down in the street far away from here or something
But hey!! He also got me a car radio, that I asked for on my birthday!! 4 months ago!! So it’s not all that bad! Can’t wait for it to be installed next year!
Genuinely hate this shit ass holiday I don’t want your gifts I don’t want to give gifts I don’t like the food I don’t like the colors I don’t like the music I don’t like being forced to be with family I actually despise December 25th and would sooner eat lead before having a merry Christmas

Sorry to hear about it, that would definitely be annoying holidays or not. Just wanted to say I had a similar experience with the “rules of life” book, my dad got me “chicken soup for the teenage soul” mind you it was 3 book series on how to succeed being a teenager. Coming from a man who was jobless, did drugs and wasted money on lottery tickets. Thankful to say I definitely didn’t need those books to know I’ll be doing better as an adult than he would…
man I hate that for you. what’s crazy is I’m absolutely positive our dads don’t read the books they buy us, nor do they look at reviews or even skim or anything like that. My dad got me a 300 page book on “how to stop apologizing” and genuinely expected me to read it. It literally pisses me off so bad because WHO told you this shit works
