12/31/2021 Friday Top Five Lana Del Rey Songs From: Paradise This is just my opinion on what I think are the top five from Paradise. I will do this twice a week. One (1) is the best, five is “the worst”... 1 Ride Why is it ranked this way?: This is mostly here, because of the video. The monologue she gives is extraordinarily beautiful. The visuals tell you another story that is hidden within the monologue. It shows even the not so pretty parts of life, and even if it has a nice rose tint over it, you can still feel her sadness or pain, and then her happiness and relief. 2 Yayo Why is it ranked this way?: Something about this song is just so…malevolent. Not necessarily her herself thinking malicious thoughts or anything like that. There is just something evil in the background that we on the outside don’t see. It also can feel like this was a good time in her life, whatever she is talking about, whoever she is talking about. Or maybe it was good, and she misses it, yet it was a bad part of her life a little bit. 3 Gods & Monsters Why is it ranked this way?: This song hits very hard to me. It’s more “fucked up” than the other ones in this album, except for maybe you could count Yayo. That one seems pretty sinister, like there is something to imply. Gods & Monsters is also very relatable to me. 4 Cola Why is it ranked this way?: This song is a song where she really shows off her voice and its power. It’s kind of like a “fuck you” in a sense as well. It’s a powerful song, but it’s not number one. 5 Body Electric
