I explain today's quest and my affinity for hardware stores

I have a mission, and that is to install shelves into my room and house! I am specifically referring to wall shelves, the ones held by screws. My only problem is my lack of power tools and the price of shelves (i know you can diy that stuff, but finding materials i approve of was difficult, and i had put this project on the back burner for this) but yesterday when i was going out with my date, i saw shelves for a reasonable price at the local utility store while i was browsing for extension cords.

So todays quest is to get power tools and shelf ingredients + retrieve anime figurines from the mail.

I've never really been an overtly masculine guy, mostly because i was just allowed to do whatever, so i just stuck to gaming and art. But i'd be lying if i said that i don't find hardware stores alluring, and also weirdly comforting. My favorite was always the yard section that was open during summer, one time there was a hammock that you could lay on, and i just chilled there while my dad actually got something for the yard. Also i'm just a slut for some foliage apparently and contrary to popular belief, i do touch grass. Also the hardware store has a wood section that always smells pleasant, mostly because my childhood home smelled like sawdust, so it's nostalgic lmao. Another section in the hardware store that i like is the lighting section, tell me a more magical experience than walking down an isle that has like a million different lamps, i'll wait. (ok as an adult it's not as mindblowing as it was like 15 years ago, but i still appreciate a good lamp, also what made it better was that this was in the early 2010s so those fake crystal chandeliers were everywhere, really enhanced the experience for 5 year old me)

Probably gonna go to the store rn, or whenever the next bus goes by my house...
