Love, Like a Veil of Jasmine

Love is not that easy to understand,

And not just anyone can —

Love comes in different ways,

It can appear sometimes

Like a bride in a veil,

It can be white as a jasmine,

Soft as pale morning light

That slips through the curtains

And rests on two sleeping souls.

Love can arrive quietly,

On velvet feet,

And you won’t know it’s there

Until your heart begins

To beat a little differently —

Steadier, warmer,

As if recognizing a home

It had forgotten it was searching for.

And sometimes love comes

Like a fairytale wand

Brushing stardust on your shoulders.

You blink,

And suddenly the world

Feels like a ballroom at midnight,

The air trembling with possibility,

The music humming

Through your bones.

It grows like a vine

Wrapping around the edges

Of two people

Who slowly, carefully,

Begin to share everything —

Dreams whispered into pillows,

Fears folded between fingers,

A promise offered

Like a glass slipper in the moonlight.

And even after decades,

Love keeps blooming —

Soft petals opening

On anniversaries,

On quiet mornings

When you make tea together,

On nights when you fall asleep

Holding hands like teenagers

Who still believe in magic.

Love, when true,

Does not fade —

It becomes the story

You retell

Again and again,

Smiling at the parts

That still feel like miracles.
