Day 4 of My 30-Day Experiment (How I'm Feeling So Far)

30 day no phone challenge WE ON DAY 4!!!!!!!

QUICK RECAP ANS GOALS FOR THOSE WHO STUMBLE ACROSS THIS:

Like I promised, I was going to give an update about my current challenge/experiment. For those who just happened to stumble onto this blog without reading the second one right here --> Day 3 of My 30-Day Experiment (So many books...) - AxelAgony's Blog | SpaceHey For a short summary, I am getting off my phone for 30 days. No social media whatsoever except for SpaceHey, which is strictly computer only. The only two things I am allowed to do on my phone is have people contact me and listen to music on Spotify until I am able to purchase an iPod. My goal is to extend this challenge every single time I reach a goal. If I make it to 30 days with signs of improvement, I want to extend it to 5 months and so on. The biggest goal would to be to switch my phone out with a flip phone entirely and live my life without the worries of doomscrolling.

Today is day four of my no phone journey! Not much happened today, I wasn't able to visit the library... so I decided to share my feelings on how my experiment is going so far and how it affects me. The more and more I spend away from my phone, the more time I suddenly have on my hands. Hours that would've been spent constantly doomscrolling has been swapped with things that are much more productive. I can't believe I had been wasting all this time that could've been put to good use!! I've felt so much happier and I look forward to going home every day. (Not that my home life is completely terrible, so please don't worry much about me.) I thought about doing a pros and cons list about not having my phone, but I can't find any cons at all except for missing out on trends, which frankly, helps build up individuality. I've really enjoyed this time to myself and feel like my time is being managed much better... a skill I'd rather learn now instead of later.

The second part of this blog is just a small recap of the book I'm reading: 'The Reappearance of Rachel Price.' For the longest time I only forced myself to read classics because I thought that was the smarter thing to do. While classics are good... they get super boring fast and I end up never finishing the book. Anywayssss, I'm on page 186? it's really good so far, I'm going to continue reading after I'm done writing this blog. Basically, this woman, Rachel Price, she's been missing for sixteen years. Her daughter, Bel didn't really know her well since her mom left when she was two. The case says that Rachel took Bel to the mall and they disappeared on the tapes. Late at night, they found her car on the side of the road with only Bel in the car. Sixteen years later, she reappeared, claiming this guy had kidnapped her and kept her in his basement all this time (and now he let her go for no reason???). The daughter isn't buying it because her mom keeps making mistakes in her stories and apparently, she was with someone before she disappeared. That's all I'm going to spoil for now, but I'll give a full book review some other day.

Today was a really short blog, so I'm really sorry for that. Not much else to write about except the fact I watched Jennifer's body for the first time, and it was super good. Not sure why it's labeled horror when it's so obviously a lesbian romance. The soundtrack was really good too, just a good movie overall (except I think every movie is good if it entertains me.) That's all I'm going to write about today, can't wait to see you all tomorrow! It's gonna snow here!

This is so interesting. I really respect your dedication and it's even inspired me to look into ways I can cut down my doom scrolling.
