30 day no phone challenge READ HERE JOY!!!!
Like I promised, I was going to give an update about my current challenge/experiment. For those who just happened to stumble onto this blog without reading the first one right here --> My 30 Day (Maybe More) Experiment. - AxelAgony's Blog | SpaceHey. For a short summary, I am getting off my phone for 30 days. No social media whatsoever except for SpaceHey, which is strictly computer only. The only two things I am allowed to do on my phone is have people contact me and listen to music on Spotify until I am able to purchase an iPod. My goal is to extend this challenge every single time I reach a goal. If I make it to 30 days with signs of improvement, I want to extend it to 5 months and so on. The biggest goal would to be to switch my phone out with a flip phone entirely and live my life without the worries of doomscrolling.
With the short recap out of the way, I'm here to talk about day 2 of my challenge so far. I actually feel a lot better about myself already, despite only starting yesterday. I only turned on my phone to check the time and that was all. I had time to shower in the morning, get ready, make myself breakfast, and write down some blogging ideas in the morning. Only a few days ago I would've sitting on the couch, scrolling on my phone until last minute to get ready. To help me out with boredom, I decided to visit the library today. They were giving away free books for Christmas, and I happened to get my hands on a cheesy twilight-like series that I can't wait to read. The first book that I checked out was 'The Reappearance of Rachel Price'. I'm only on page 21 right now, so there's not much I can talk about yet. If anyone is interested, I could start blogging book reviews too! (Even if only one person reads this anyways.) Getting back on track with the challenge, I convinced my friend to join me in it too!
As for afterschool, I decided to get rid of a lot of my old figurines and comics, something I don't have interest in anymore. I'm moving soon, so my biggest priority is donating as much as I can until I move out. I would rather die than sell anything on Depop, so I'm giving away a lot of things to friends and my local library. I'm really proud of how much I've gotten done already. I sorted out my shelves after 2 weeks of procrastination. My next step is to start giving out old books that I know I'm not going to read and giving them straight over to a thrift store or my library.
This was a pretty short blog, I'm sure there will be a lot more to talk about as time goes on, and support is supa dupa apricated!! I think nothing would make me happier than hearing other people blogging about no using their phones for a long while. Can't wait to blog more about this. See you all tomorrow!
