I recently made a blog about how people should stop treating SA and other forms of abuse as something to joke about. One person commented that it was people posting about their experiences that caused people to respond with that kind of humour. I pointed out that that was like blaming a rape victim because of how she was dressed and told him to stop victim blaming. He called me “reactionary and immature “ and said that as a minor I shouldn’t be on social media unsupervised.
I don’t think that calling someone out for victim blaming is being “reactionary and immature “ but I’m wondering what people think. Please comment to say.

Victim-blaming is not okay. I’ve seen way too many women and girls choose the bear over the man because of this.

Unfortunately in the United States, it's still treated as a joke even after the #MeToo movement because we haven't reformed our prisons one bit and we treat rape as something of an inevitability for anyone accused of a crime. There is also an increase in misogyny due to far-right influencers and the fact our society is imploding and that dating and basic human interaction are luxuries now.
