i love breakcore. and i love cynthoni even more

if there's anything i always loved, is breakcore/ambient dnb, and sewerslvt was a notable name. although i never really listened to their songs back then, lately i have been checking out her work having returned as cynthoni and GOD, some songs hit so hard.

when you compare sewer's songs with cyn's songs... you can tell something changed. like yeah, her mixing improved a lot and it feels like i could listen to each instrument a little bit better, but... it feels different. sewer had that more depressive vibe, where cyn sounds like someone that you saw at their worst, now healed. cynthoni feels like moving on. moving on from a past that tormented you for so long. and this hits so hard when you know about sewerslvt's past.

sewerslvt had a pretty insane backstory. lots of things including stuff she already did racist-y stuff *(like literally having a track named the n-word, in which she apologized and recognized, and said that it was back when she was immature and agreed), and the loss of her girlfriend through suicide, hence why she stopped making music.

sewer's last post was a track named "goodbye" on youtube, and it was a 17 minute long track including lots of stuff back when she was with her, including messages and places that they went through together.

one of the last moments of this video was showing these places on google maps, and it showed a hospital saying "the last time i saw you". that was gut-wrenching. i could never imagine losing someone so important to me this way.

then suddenly, after 2 years and a half, she just posted a whole ass EP named "Sewerslvt Presents: Cynthoni, Pt. 1" and that shit made me go INSANE (in a good way). i remember going back to school and talking to my friend "DUDE. DUUUDE. SEWERSLVT IS BACK.".

i've been daydreaming a lot with her songs... usually music makes me daydream about future audiovisual projects, and specifically "Draining Love Story (In The Eyes Of Cynthoni)", which is a collection of remixes of sewerslvt songs, and it is WILD. i haven't felt this emotionally connected to a collection of songs like this in a while... 

specifically, "Cynthoni Of Flames" is a song that's very important to me. this song is a remix of the very iconic "Mr. Kill Myself" from sewer, which is like, one of my first breakcore songs EVER? and i don't think i'm alone on this one. this song became so popular and got out of the bubble... and the remix just sounds so ethereal. the ambience, the uplifting tone from the second half of the song. it makes me feel things i haven't felt in a while. it makes me remember how much breakcore in general helped me in lots of my hard times and it was one of my various tastes while i was on this self-discovery phase during 2022-2024 :))

i really appreciate jvne's work... not just her work, but her as a person. this album is just so important to me and it's just so nice to see her move on from everything and going strong...

i'm still studying cynthoni/sewerslvt, i haven't listened to everything, but GOD some of this stuff is just so deep. for me, "Cynthoni Of Flames" carries such an important weight for breakcore in general and i feel this isn't talked enough.
