2p! Switzerland: Hetalia

Just today, while drawing Switzerland, I thought to myself: He doesn't seem to have that many fans...? At least, that I have seen. He definitely isn't top ten in terms of popularity. Then that got me  curious about what his 2p! design was like. I was surprised that he was basically just a bootleg Canada. (In some aspects. Okay maybe just kinda. Sort of-ish.) ANyways, I consider that reflection of his 1p! personality to be a HUGEEE mischaracterization!!! The more popular consensus of his  2p! version says he is: shy, open to visitors, and bad with money. kind of lame. It isn't as dramatic of a flip as I think it should be. For starters, regular Switzerland is already sort of shy. Maybe not timid but I wouldn't say he is the most boisterous guy. He isn't open about his feelings, at least the more vulnerable ones. So, it is proabably fair to say... he is a tsundere. That would make his 2p! self a deredere, if we are trying to create a proper contrast.

It especially felt right to me, because a while ago I came across lists of countries that had "the best sex lives" and Switzerland was right t number one! Not only that, as I checked through other (questionably reliable) articles, surveys from 2014 state that 32% of Swiss couples have had sex in public places!! Plus high reported body counts. Despite them being evidently... horny, they have one of the lowest teen pregnancy rates of all time. The United States is 10 times more than them! A lot of this is due to their early exposure to sex education; as early as kindergarten is what I read.

All that lead me to the conclusion that 2p! Switzerland is a horny but well educated perv. At least that is one take on his character that I have. I do love the bad money spending trait. He probably loves to pay for others, contrasting how 1p! Switzerland can't help taking up offers where he is being paid for by others. Lots of impulsive and big spending on others in the name of amiability. I can see him especially wasting a ton of cash on Lichtenstein... how kind of him but how bad for his country. In terms of visitors, 2p! would have a much more welcoming attitude. However, this has it's downside. He can be too welcoming to the point he won't want you to leave. Stay and become a Swiss citizen he says with a military application in hand. (Technically you can't join the military as a foreigner but 2p! has a different ideas. ...You don't have to worry about your neutrality being broken  if you force every intruder to become one with you!) He will allure with the mouthwatering aroma of cheese fondue and cholera. Voss Zwingli will have you NOT wanting to visit Switzerland any time soon.

His relationship with his cute little sister, Lichtenstein, is reversed in the dynamic. She scolds him for his irresponsible spending and tells him to stop trying to bring people in! Foreigners are bad. And no mercenaries!! She calls him naive but he knows very well what he is doing, I think. I see 1p! Switzerland as far more naive actually. He has a lot of practical knowledge but is emotionally ...hmm stunted. Responding to affection or his own feelings of affection has him like a fish out of water. He isn't the tough smart guy he builds himself up to be. 2p! Switzerland is much scarier... while he is a little stupid and way too comfortable talking about sex, he still lugs that huge gun with him wherever he goes. It's hard to tell if he wants you to come over or if he's trying to play some kind of twisted trick on you...

I made the joke that 2p! Switzerland is like France but without the high cheating rates and stds. // (Around 70% of french people reported cheating once in their lives... if I remember correctly. the stds thing is me just being an asshole tofrance.)
