How To Convince People Away From Using Ai In Creative Project?

This isn't a quite a question, I just had nothing else to title this. So recently, I've been with two other people in the Gaia Online website and we're planning the web game thing where we see the person's avatar and assign them rpg stats. Then, if they want, the people can fight each other, the match is decided by coin flip, then I manually write how their fight would play out. All well and good honestly. But what's not great is the people I'm working with want to use AI art to 'enhance the avatars'. Gaia Online has already customizable avatars, my avatar here on Spacehey is one of those. But for graphics, they want to use AI for graphics.

 I gave my case, cited why AI would be bad, given we still only have 3 people, one including me, doing this project. It would break the trust of any other creative for one, we aren't rushing or have any deadlines, its needless IMO to use AI for something we're just doing for fun, the fact ai steals art, generating displaces communities with the data centers, the art not even being good, ect. I do know what nuance is, I know ai can be used for good but using it for art is just not it. Why can't we go back to old fourm days where we just stole art manually from google and used that, you know? But seriously, Id rather do that then use ai. I'm not trying to smack talk them too hard but when I voulentered myself in the first place, I told them straight up if they use ai, I would leave. This is me already trying to compromise, seeing one of them apparently says they use ai for refrence images. It just boogles my mind too, the other one apparently having a degree in art suggesting we enhance images with ai in the first place. Dang.
