My first website, do you have one? + some resources

After way, way too long, I finally have my own website! If you want, you can look at it here: Digital Vulture.
I honestly took way too long to bite the bullet on this, I had gotten way too deep into a rabbithole of webhosting and domains and yaddayadda that I just, couldn't start. So, while stoned, I decided to just pick one and make a website. I landed on Neocities because there is a lot of support and a large community, which is something I value. And the name... eh, I just thought it sounded cool. The next thing is. To figure out what to put on it. I have a few ideas and plans, as I've been searching the web for some inspo.

• Change layout so all main "content" fits in a column in the middle, with a solid background so that I can have a cool funky one without making the text unreadable :p
• A links page/section and maybe a blogroll as well
• Some random pages dedicated to/about whatever my interest-of-the-week is
• An indie web/low tech manifesto

I am definitely still coming up with new concepts and ideas, but they all are pretty vague, so I'd love to hear what y'all have been doing with your sites, what fun ideas have you seen?
And for those of you who don't have one, trust me. Just start. Just starting is always the hardest part, but even the most plain, blank page of html has more heart and creativity than half of the corpo web. Plus, there's a lot of good step-by-step guides for this sort of thing :p
