#57 - EGO VS. WHOLENESS

Do you notice something strange? Your ego is constantly trying to justify its own existence. I noticed this when it came to the pleasure I felt when my partner had lusted for me. When we had, let's say "gone our own ways", I started thinking why I even liked the feeling?

Well, the answer is "I". When someone desires you in particular, especially physical characteristics like my fat horsecock, this validates the ego's idea that you are an individual consciousness divorced from all other consciousnesses in existence.

People like you for this thing you have that other people don't? That must mean you are uniquely different to others, separated from those plebs! Although this is also very true for mental characteristics, particularly notable among intellectuals lol.

It is also important to note that, although we typically think of ego as a belief of self-superiority, it can also be the other way around, as in self-inferiority. For example, believing that no one loves you is another method of divorcing yourself from reality. Nobody understands you, nobody appreciates you, clearly you're different from them then!

Alright, so what is the flaw of the ego? The ego desires to be God through trying to separate yourself from your external reality by denying the unity of existence, trying to be completely independent. But unfortunately for the ego, this is impossible, and thus only leads to suffering.

Once you truly comprehend the oneness of being however, the ego can't control you anymore. You are loved, but so is everything else in existence. Not for anything they did, but for their innate value in simply being. You are enough, you don't have to validate your existence.

But of course, this means that there's nothing which separates you from anyone else, because we're all interconnected. This is submission to God. Acceptance of fate. Total alignment to objectivity.

Now that you remember who you truly are, how can the devil ever harm you? Enlightenment, peace, love, happiness, all you could ever want was within you all along. The devil can't offer anything to tempt you anymore.

"Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest!" - Quran 13:28, Pickthall translation

This verse puts it most eloquently. Indeed, God has been generous, yet time and time again we reject His mercy. We listen to the devil thinking short term gain will benefit us, he tries to poison our minds with the same arrogance he had when he disobeyed God. But ultimately, it's all just noise, the choice is ultimately yours. Will you appeal to reason or desire? Never forget that...
