hi all- wondering if anyone has taken an essay exam at all, and if they have anything that might help me study for this thing tonight! mostly, i'm just excited to crash in bed immediately after class is done. i've written outlines for the questions that may be on the midterm, but i'm AWFUL at memorization! help a girl out!

im not the best at studying either but i have done a few things to help me alot.
this also depends on what kind of class ur taking but this is what i do for one class where i have to study alot.
in this class, there is reading from a book and slides with info.
one thing i do is handwrite notes from the slides first and section it off well. i use highlighter to highlight big words or important information i think will be on the exam.
then, i get main points from textbook.
then, i get any vocabulary terms i may need and write the ones i do not know or may forget
after all the pages of handwritten notes, I grab ONE sheet of paper and rewrite all the main points from my own notes. so im basically summarizing my own notes on just one page.
i write it very tiny and cram it all together. and just write until i think i have all the important notes. i usually take up the entire page and maybe the back but avoid the back side the most you can.
then after i literally read the whole page over and over until i know it all.
so its basically notes all compressed in tiny handwriting so its all on one page.
for essays, i just make a sample essay and just write everything important but just in horrible flow and improper sentences. and then i combine the information into better and longer sentences.
honestly thought i replied to my own blog for a minute there, lol. same name!
thank you for the advice! i've seen that method used a couple of times before, but i've never tried it myself because of that good ol' perfectionist itch- maybe i'll try it today though!

Hi! Maybe this will help you; I used it in my own studies.
Try to identify the key points in each topic, like giving a title to each section, and write them down on a piece of paper. When you're ready, try to pretend you're explaining the whole thing to a friend, looking only at the titles of your key points. This way you'll quickly understand your knowledge gaps and know what to focus on better. + by explaining it you solidify the material in your mind more easily, and it's not as monotonous as just reading
oo, that sounds like a good idea! thank you for the suggestion :)
