My Mom's A Witch

Growing up with a spiritual mother added a layer of whimsy that my siblings and I did not fully appreciate as kids. Want to climb a tree or take a branch? You gotta ask the tree first... Duh. Fireflies? Nah, those are fairies... obviously. A random dirty one-dollar flip-flop in the local Dollar General parking lot, "An angel must've lost its shoe." You hit an animal with your car, "Look up the spiritual meaning of..." matter of fact, you see any animal, you'd better look up its spiritual meaning. You find a luna moth, "something magical is gonna happen," didn't feel that way when the next one I saw was hanging on the side of a Love's gas station in nowhere Kentucky. So yes, my mom's a witch, and yes, the neighborhood kids believed fairies lived in the nearby creek.
