Today (Sunday 5th October) is my mom’s birthday. I bought her a box of her favourite chocolates as half of her birthday present. As the other half of her present I’m cooking Sunday dinner so that she doesn’t have to spend her birthday doing it. (I know I’m alright doing it because I cooked Sunday dinner once before when I felt she needed a rest). Jake (her boyfriend and my future stepdad) is coming for dinner and he’s going to give me his professional opinion on how well I do. (He’s head chef at a local restaurant). Andrea (my own girlfriend) is also coming for dinner. She’s looking forward to trying my cooking. She says that if she likes it she will help me wash up but if she doesn’t I wash up on my own. (Now there’s incentive to do a good job. Lol). Anyway, what really matters is to make sure my mom has a really great birthday.

I was going to do this as a separate blog but I think it makes more sense to just add it as a comment here. Dinner went well. Most important of all is that mom enjoyed it and she’s having a good birthday. Andrea liked my cooking. (Lucky for me or I would have done all the washing up on my own. Lol). I can’t help feeling abit pleased with myself over what Jake (who’s a professional head chef) said about my cooking. He said that if I had cooked that in his kitchen he would have been proud to serve it to customers. (I know I shouldn’t boast but I don’t very often). A good day for all of us.
