Bike! And other life updates

So, I live in California now! I'm living with my grandpa (Papa) and my Mom, since Papa needs pretty much full time care at this point. He's at a skilled nursing facility right now, since he had to get a bunch of fluid removed from around his lungs. That means I have a week or two of a break! The next door neighbor moved out, and she was getting rid of a bike that happened to be the size I needed. SCORE!!!! Since NorCal is big on bikes, there's a bike shop not even 5 minutes from the house. They were playing Face Down by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus when I walked in, so I knew I was in the right place LOL. All in all, getting the bike fixed cost me like $220, but I did some research, and the bike I have would've been $500-600 new, so I can't even be mad about it. Now that it's fall weather outside (YAY), I finally took her for a spin yesterday! I only crashed once, and only sort of. My old bike had brakes that weren't too touchy, so I was used to being able to use them without being jolted. With the new brakes on this bike, they're a lot more sensitive. I ended up accidentally making the bike jolt, causing me to crash into a light pole qwq. I only ended up with a scraped elbow and a bruised rear, so it definitely could've been worse! For my first time riding in a little over a year, I'd say I didn't do half bad. Really, a car driving by while I was trying to get up hurt my ego worse than I hurt my elbow XD. I'm definitely out of shape, because when I got home I was SUPER out of breath. I'll just have to keep practicing! And probably get some elbow pads.

I also have my Halloween costume! I don't have any pictures yet, because I haven't put it on all the way, but I'm going as Catwoman! My boyfriend is going as Batman, and his friend is going as Superman. I'm flying out to spend a few days with my boyfriend around and on Halloween, so I'm really excited!

I'm thinking of reviving my YouTube channel and making a video about some Star Wars stuff, because that series plagues my every waking thought and I need to point it at something other than my poor friends' inboxes. Let me know if you'd be interested in that!
